About
Ye Olde Steak House has been a beloved Knoxville institution since 1968, when Bundt and Helen King transformed a former antique store into what would become one of Tennessee's most iconic steakhouses. Now run by their three children—Nancy Ayers, Cheryl Wilson, and David King—this third-generation family business has weathered fires, pandemics, and the test of time while maintaining its rustic, unpretentious charm. The restaurant is especially famous among University of Tennessee Football fans and has been featured on the Travel Channel's Man-v-Food, named one of America's ten best steakhouses, and featured in Yahoo Sports' list of classic steakhouses. All entrees are flame-grilled and served with a house salad, your choice of side dish, and their legendary HOT homemade bread—don't miss the famous Woodshed Potatoes. The cozy log cabin atmosphere features family photos on the walls, creating an intimate setting that feels like dining with old friends. Open Monday through Saturday from 4 PM to 9 PM, closed Sundays. Reservations recommended for parties of five or more. Located just six miles from downtown Knoxville on Chapman Highway. Gift certificates available for special occasions.
