Owner Julio Ortiz, born and raised in the streets of Havana, Cuba, immigrated to the United States at age 24 and began his culinary journey in the restaurant industry before founding The Twisted Café in 2009. The restaurant evolved from a beloved sandwich shop into a full-service dining destination, largely thanks to the overwhelming popularity of their legendary Cuban sandwich. Many recipes showcased on the menu have been passed down through generations, originating from Julio's mother, Maria Del Carmen, ensuring an authentically touching connection to Cuban heritage.
