Michigan & Trumbull Pizza brings authentic Detroit-style square deep dish pizza to Corktown's Dreamtroit development at 1331 Holden St. Founded by Detroit natives Nathan Peck and Kristen Calverley, the restaurant originated at Federal Galley in Pittsburgh in December 2017, where they created innovative pizzas that elevated the classic Detroit-style crust after countless attempts to find pizza that reminded them of home. The pair returned to Detroit on January 23, 2020, opening their brick-and-mortar adjacent to the namesake intersection of Michigan and Trumbull Avenue before moving to their current location in Fall 2023. The menu features dough made fresh daily, with standout red pizzas including the Meat Lovers with pepperoni, ham, sausage, and bacon, the Packard Pepperoni with pickled chiles and housemade haute honey, and the Cowabunga Supreme loaded with vegetables and meats. White pizza options like the Bagley Chorizo and Woodward White offer creative alternatives, while the Buffalo Chicken and McLovin (with beyond beef) cater to diverse tastes.
