Marcy Jo's Mealhouse and Bakery was a beloved Southern restaurant located at 4205 US-431 in Columbia, Tennessee, that captured the hearts of locals and travelers alike for 17 years before closing its doors in April 2024. Founded in 2007 by Joey and Rory Feek along with Rory's sister Marcy, this charming eatery began in an abandoned general store built in 1891 in the farming community of Pottsville, Tennessee. The restaurant became renowned for its legendary homemade cinnamon rolls, made from scratch biscuits, and generous portions of Southern comfort food. Marcy Jo's gained national attention through its connection to the Grammy-nominated country music duo Joey+Rory, whose television shows and videos featured the restaurant extensively. Celebrity visitors included Randy Travis, George Jones, and Heidi Klum. The menu featured breakfast staples like stuffed French toast, pancakes, and country ham, while lunch offerings included Southern fried catfish, barbecue, and homemade pies. Although Joey Feek passed away in 2016, Marcy continued to manage and run the beloved establishment. The restaurant also operated a second location in downtown Columbia called Marcy Jo's Muletown from 2019 to 2022, which featured live music performances. Today, visitors can purchase Marcy Jo's cookbooks and merchandise through The Homestead Store to recreate the famous recipes at home.
