The General Jackson Showboat is Nashville's premier floating entertainment venue and one of the largest showboats ever built in America. The boat was launched in 1985 from Jeffboat Inc. in Jeffersonville, Indiana, and officially christened on July 2, 1985, by Mrs. Thelma Gaylord.
