The café's cuisine is inspired by the bounty and community of Upstate New York, focusing on highlighting local delights from farmers, purveyors, and makers. The ever-changing menu is a love letter to the seasons, often inspired by Nordic heritage. Cafe Mutsi is the brainchild of Nicole and Raoul, who opened the doors in the late spring of 2024. Their daily baked breads and pastries are adapted from handwritten recipes from Nicole's grandmother, and their house-made harissa is Raoul's mom's secret recipe. The café is dedicated to showcasing culinary creativity with the best of local, seasonal produce, such as curing their own gravlax with local gin, pairing fresh-baked rye bread with local cheeses, and pickling and roasting the best of local vegetables straight from the farmers. The warm, cozy atmosphere and hospitality of Cafe Mutsi make it a perfect spot for any occasion, whether it's a freshly brewed espresso to begin the day, a slowly savored pastry in the sunlit dining room, a book enjoyed over lunch with a glass of natural wine, or celebrating each other through the seasons over a lingering dinner. Cafe Mutsi is open Thursday to Sunday from 9 AM to 2 PM and Friday and Saturday from 5 PM to 9 PM.
