Caffè Casa has been a cornerstone of Kalamazoo's downtown community since 1992, when John and Kathy Beebe opened their dream of an Italian-style mom-and-pop coffee house. This beloved coffee shop on the Kalamazoo Mall offers traditional coffee and espresso, specialty beverages, teas, house-baked goods, and made-to-order lunches that keep locals coming back for over three decades. Signature drinks include the rich Caramel Crème and the aromatic Lavender Tea Latte, while food lovers indulge in the famous Club Croissant and Breakfast Bagel Bomb. What truly sets Caffè Casa apart is their commitment to local ingredients—many menu items feature produce from their own backyard garden, including lavender, lemongrass, and hot peppers for house-made syrups, plus homegrown vegetables in soups and arugula in summer months. The space showcases local art on gallery walls, as Kathy and John were instrumental in launching Kalamazoo's Art Hop movement. Sustainability is woven into everything they do, from composting to upcycling, with furniture crafted from reclaimed bowling alley lanes. The passionate team includes owner Kathy, assistant manager Zola, supervisor Ana, and baristas Paige, Ben, and Anna, each with their own favorite menu items.
