About
Byrd & Baldwin Bros Steakhouse is a premier fine dining establishment located in the heart of downtown Norfolk, Virginia at 116 Brooke Avenue. Since opening in 2006, this iconic steakhouse has been filling a long-standing void in the city's culinary scene by delivering an exceptional traditional steak and chophouse experience. The restaurant is housed in a magnificently restored 1906 Beau Arts Italianate building that originally served as the headquarters for a real estate investment firm of the same name. After nearly thirty years of vacancy and neglect, the building was meticulously restored in 2006 following strict guidelines from the Virginia Department of Historic Resources and the National Park Service. The restaurant proudly sources its beef from Harris Ranch in California's San Joaquin Valley, one of the oldest and purest Black Angus herds in the United States, established in 1937. Their cattle are certified steroid, hormone, and antibiotic-free, producing steaks with exceptional marbling and flavor. The award-winning wine selection is assembled by Hampton Roads' most experienced sommeliers and housed in a climate-controlled cellar ensuring optimal quality. The dining room features elegant mahogany trim, restored leaded glass windows, and original architectural details including a historic safe. Private dining rooms are available for groups of eight or more, making it perfect for celebrations and business dinners. Reservations for parties of five to eight can be made by calling 757-222-9191.
