Ristorante Bucci is a beloved Italian dining destination located at 20217 Mack Avenue in the heart of Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan. Founded by Chef Bujar Bucci, a culinary artist with Croatian roots and classical French training, this family-owned restaurant has been serving the community since 1999, originally operating as Maxine's Italian Cuisine before being renamed after the owner's childhood nickname. Chef Bucci's journey began when he left law school in his third year to pursue his passion for culinary arts, graduating in Croatia in 1986. His career included formative experiences working under master chefs in Sweden, France, Greece, and Germany, including Chef Maxim at Café Paris-France and Chef Navratidas at Poseidon in Wertvik-Sweden. The restaurant specializes in modern European cuisine crafted with locally sourced ingredients, featuring signature dishes such as whole Mediterranean Branzino, tender Veal Chop, elegant Veal Cardinale, classic Chicken Parmigiana, fresh Beet Salad, and the exquisite Fig Prosciutto appetizer. The intimate atmosphere Perfect for romantic dinners and special celebrations, Bucci offers outdoor seating during warmer months and accommodates private events, catering, and even cooking classes on Sundays and Mondays with Chef Alban. Open Tuesday through Thursday from 5 PM to 9 PM, and Friday and Saturday until 10 PM, the restaurant is closed on Sundays and Mondays except for private bookings.
