Blue Mountain Brewery stands as Virginia's first rural brewery, nestled in the shadow of the majestic Blue Ridge Mountains in the charming town of Afton. Established in 2007, this family-owned craft brewery has dedicated itself to brewing exceptional American beers inspired by thousands of years of tradition while embracing modern innovation. As a true farm brewery, Blue Mountain Brewery grows its own hops on-site, ensuring the freshest ingredients in every pint. The brewpub serves a rotating selection of core brews including their renowned Pre-Prohibition Lager, a noble-hop-laced Classic Lager with 5.3% ABV and 22 IBU, a cold-aged German Ale, an Orange Infused IPA, a refreshing hazy IPA, and a Pale Ale that showcases Nelson County's finest ingredients. Seasonal offerings like a Juicy IPA, Summer Wheat Ale, and fall German-style brew keep things interesting throughout the year. The Barrel House Series features experimental creations and the award-winning Imperial Stout, Dark Hollow, aged at their second location in Arrington, Virginia. The rustic brewpub atmosphere welcomes guests Monday through Saturday from 11am to 10pm and Sunday from 11am to 9pm. Note: they do not accept reservations—seating is first come, first served.
