Bangkok OMG Thai Kitchen is an authentic Thai restaurant located at 1901 S 1st St #102 in Yakima, Washington, owned and operated by Chef Jarinrat 'Iris' Boondoung-Anderson, a Thai-born culinary entrepreneur who spent over three decades immersed in Thailand's vibrant food culture. Chef Iris began her culinary journey at a Buddhist monastery as a 'Dek Wat' temple cook, where she learned the values of balance, mindfulness, and community that continue to shape her cooking philosophy today. After relocating to Yakima, she purchased Yakima Thai Cuisine in 2019 before launching her dream concept, Bangkok OMG Thai Kitchen, in 2022. The restaurant has quickly become known for its bold authentic flavors and warm hospitality, serving signature dishes like Kao Soi, Pad Thai, and Massaman Curry—all made from scratch with fresh, aromatic ingredients. Chef Iris's Buddhist upbringing guides her approach to cooking as an act of love and gratitude, honoring Thailand's five-flavor harmony of sweet, sour, salty, spicy, and bitter in every dish. Beyond the restaurant, Chef Iris has expanded her culinary empire to include Bangkok Asian Market (2023), Siam Asian Market (2024), and Aunty Jam's Asian Kitchen food trailer, bringing authentic Asian ingredients and Thai favorites to the Yakima Valley. One of her most memorable experiences was cooking for actor Bill Murray at Pebble Beach—a testament to how food connects people across cultures.
