Originally opening as Alfonso's Pizzeria in the Downtown Somerville Shopping Mall, the restaurant quickly became a local favorite, leading to its current prominent location on West Main Street. Now operated by Anthony Ianniello and managed by John Donald, who has been with the restaurant for over eight years, Alfonso's continues to deliver the same recipes and commitment to quality that have earned it a loyal following for over four decades. The menu features an impressive array of classic Italian dishes, from light appetizers to hearty pasta entrees, including house specialties like penne alla vodka, cavatelli and broccoli, and the famous gourmet pizzas that made the restaurant famous. The restaurant is open Monday through Thursday from 11 AM to 9 PM, Friday and Saturday until 10 PM, and Sunday from noon to 9 PM.
