Knowing some others that rave about Wagamama I went with my friend and two boys. The main issue I had is that I struggled to hear my friend sitting 2-3 feet at the other side of a small table. It’s so noisy and it was only a Thursday evening. Clearly the tables are packed in too close and I suspect the walls being of some masonry construct does nothing to dampen the sound. The music being played just hinders trying to hear the people that you are with. Then there was the menu, the children’s options were tofu or chicken based; my 10 year old does not like either so trying to scout the menu for something he would like was a nightmare. The food was okay but I was not wowed. The cost seemed very high. The staff were good for service. In all Wagamama felt like a commercialisation of Asian cuisine, just with a lot missing!
