We did an overnight B&B here and I can thoroughly recommend it. A really lovely, comfortable room (we chose a fancy room) with quality furnishings and lots of added, thoughtful extras. The Illy coffee machine, fresh milk and fresh, sweet treats were our highlights, but also included good quality bathroom products and even a pillow spray. The bed was also super comfortable. The breakfast was amongst the best we have ever had. I chose fresh fruit and yoghurt, followed by smoked salmon and poached eggs on sourdough, whilst my husband had the full English, which was plentiful, piping hot and really good quality. He was a very happy man! We had a couple of drinks in the bar when we arrived and that had a real buzz too. |The other highlight was the staff who were without exception friendly, helpful and cheerful, and did anything and everything to make our stay a pleasure, which it absolutely was, despite the grey miserable weather in Newbury that weekend!
