In the 1990s, Mendoza-born Manuel Mas returned to his birthplace and established Finca La Anita, targeting his mother. This was one of the pioneering wineries in Argentina that focused on the production of premium quality wines at a time when most of the industry was volume based. Finca La Anita is located in the Alto Agrelo region, south of Mendoza, known for its specific agroecological conditions, including alluvial and clayey soils.
